Andy Mouncey 42, lives with his family just outside Lancaster, North Yorkshire.
He has run his own training, coaching and speaking business since 2000.
Triathlon
He started a 17 year career in triathlon in 1987 competing round the world and achieving age group representation at World level for Britain in 1992. He graduated to Ironman and raced successfully five times over this distance.
In 2003 he set new record stage times which still stand today for the Enduroman Arch To Arc Challenge: A 300 mile solo triathlon linking London and Paris via an English Channel swim.
Doing Big and Scary
From this experience he created Doing Big and Scary. This is his unique model for consistent high performance at the heart of which is a Six Step process for achieving and balancing Big Goals, and an inspirational presentation of the same name.

Andy is a published author and has appeared on radio and TV. He continues to speak about and coach with the principles in his model to people in business, education and sport in the UK and abroad.
Life After The English Channel
Since swimming the channel Andy has not swum a stroke, and has concentrated instead on ultra-marathon, trail and fell running. He has also become a father to son Tom, and he and his wife Charlotte are expecting their second child in December 2009.

Back In The Saddle
Andy will return to triathlon in 2010 after six years away from the sport pioneering a new Big & Scary challenge. He will be attempting to link the three classic Lake District endurance events into one solo continuous triathlon & establish a new World Record.
